Dr. Rebaz Baez Tawfeeq Ghafouri, a Professor of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Koya University, has achieved a significant academic milestone by publishing a high-impact research article—an exceptional accomplishment in his department, where publication in such prestigious journals is rare (Balneo and PRM Research Journal, Q3, IF 1.1, Web of Science).
Dr. Rebaz’s study, titled “Determining Power Training Needs Using the Force-Velocity Profile (Imbalance) in Elite Female Volleyball Players Using Different Vertical Jumps,” provides novel insights into sports training methodologies through biomechanical analysis of elite athletes. The research was conducted on 12 elite female volleyball players from Montenegro’s U19 national team and utilized advanced motion analysis tools to assess the Force-Velocity (Fv) profile during Squat Jumps (SJ) and Countermovement Jumps (CMJ).
The study’s key findings revealed a notable imbalance in players’ Fv profiles, with CMJ exhibiting a higher imbalance compared to SJ. This result underscores the importance of individualized training programs, emphasizing strength development and sport-specific dynamic exercises to enhance jump performance. The research strongly recommends routine Fv profiling to monitor athletic development and optimize performance outcomes.
This achievement is a testament to Dr. Rebaz’s dedication to advancing scientific knowledge in exercise physiology and bridging research with practical application in sports performance. It reflects Koya University’s growing impact in international sports science research.
