Department of H&S Sciences Research Center
The department is headed by Dr. Rekurd Sarhang Maghdid who is an assistant professor at the Department of Business Administration in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Koya University. He got his MA in Public Policy from Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Bilkent University- Anakar (Turkey) in (2010). He obtained his PhD in Public Administration from the Utara Universiti Malaysia – Sintok (Malaysia) in (2021). His research interests lie at the interface between Public Administration and Public Policy, such as disciplines of Public Affairs, Organizational Behavior, Organization Theory, Crisis Management, Crisis Policy, Leadership and Leadership Styles. He is particularly interested in Organizational Behavior. His research and teaching are closely related.
Vision of the Department
This department was established in 2024 to encourage competent scholars to effectively contribute to developing academic research in the humanities and social sciences. This department aims to assist staff members and early career researchers who seek to publish their research in prestigious and high-impact journals. The department also supports scholars in increasing their research visibility and impact by offering academic mentoring and guidance. It presents the opportunity to push forward scientific knowledge by applying technical skills and subject knowledge to specific research questions. To develop the quality of the research conducted in the departments across the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, the department plans to initiate a set of innovative activities that help boost the quality of academic research. Such activities may include Creating a Research Strategy, Understanding the Research Process, Develop Analytical Skills, Time Management in Research, Utilize Academic Support Services, and Obtaining Research Funds and Grants.
Objectives of the Department
The department’s objectives arise from observations regarding the growing need to enhance academic research capacity across all disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. The department attempts to raise research capacities and increase interdisciplinary communication. The main objective of this department is to build trained research cadres from various specialties. Another objective is to bring scholars from different research groups together and increase their collaboration. The department also encourages teamwork and research groups to improve the quality of scientific research.
