The Department of Mullah Gowra Research Center at the Deanship of R&D centers—Koya University—organized a scientific meeting on “Women in the Path of Freedom and Awareness.”
The meeting began with the national anthem “Ay Raqib” and standing to pay tribute to the souls of the martyrs of Kurds and Kurdistan.
Furthermore, during 16 Days of Activism Against GBV, On Sunday, December 8, 2024, SEED Foundation’s Senior Legal and Advocacy Advisor, Adnan Qadir, joined an inspiring panel discussion hosted by Koya University’s Research Center on the theme “Women in the Path of Freedom and Awareness.”
The meeting brought together influential voices, including Assist Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hasib Siddiq president of Koya University, Ms. Kurdo Omar, Iraqi Parliament Member, Dean of the Deanship of R&D centers Assist. Prof. Dr. Halgurd S. Maghdid, university staff, and over 70 students. Mr. Adnan delivered a compelling presentation on “Applicable Legal Frameworks for Violence Against Women and Girls: Protections and Implementation,” sparking a dynamic conversation about strengths, challenges, and opportunities for advancing women’s and children’s rights.
This impactful session emphasized the power of collaboration in addressing violence against women and girls while paving the way for meaningful change. Presenters were honored with certificates as a gesture of appreciation for their contributions.
